A stickbag is, surprisingly enough, a bag to hold drumsticks & yes you need one!

Once you start to move your drumkit around, rehearsals, gigs etc. you are going to need some where to keep / carry your sticks. Even if you only play at home a stickbag is the correct place to keep your sticks.  It enables you to keep all your sticks in one place & they will always be accessible . Most stickbags can be hung from a floor tom.

A stickbag retails from as little as £5.00 although you can pay up to £100 for more elaborate ones.

A stickbag is not only used for sticks it is a very useful place to keep many small accessories. Most bags have seperate compartments to store small bits & bobs.

The following is a list of items I keep in my stickbag, especially when out gigging. I recommend you also carry most of these items.  (I have a large stickbag!!!):

  • Drum keys
  • Leatherman style tool
  • Bass drum impact patch
  • Gaffa tape
  • Small torch
  • Cymbal felts
  • Wing nuts
  • Pen & paper
  • Whistle
  • Plasters
  • Headache pills
  • Chewing gum
  • Photo of the kids
  • Cuddly toy
  • And of course a good selection of drumsticks.

(Only kidding about the cuddly toy.)
